Sick, Sicker, Sickest

*** Disclaimer: This post might prove a little hard to read, especially for the uninitiated. If that is you, feel free to move along. ***

This has got to be the sickest generation ever. Why? Because we have learned the art of appropriating fancy medical terminologies to our dysfunctions.

But truth be told, you don’t have high blood pressure. You have an ANGER management issue that is showing up as high everything.

You don’t have Depression. Your real problem is PRIDE, which causes you to think way too much about yourself, and what you want, and what you didn’t get and who didn’t treat you right. You need to quit obessesing about yourself so much.

You don’t have a weight problem. Your real problem is GLUTTONY. You are not fat because you have slow metabolism, you are fat because you eat way too much, way too soon. (Sorry, I know it is not politically correct to say ‘fat‘, but someone has to say it like it is. Honey, all those extra calories are not coming from the air you breathe, but the food you keep dumping into your body.) And no matter how much you eat, you just can’t seem to get enough…you are never satiated because obviously you are not feeding your body alone, you are also feeding your messed up emotions.

You don’t have high blood sugar. Your real problem is LAZINESS. You need to get off your tush and get moving. When was the last time you broke into a sweat because you were walking or running??? Exactly!!!

I can go on, but I think you get the drift…almost 70 percent of people who are in the hospital right now due to various lifestyle diseases wouldn’t be there if they had addressed their dysfunction (instead of medicating and throwing a pity party around it).

If you really want to enjoy good health, you need to wrestle with the real issues lying beneath the surface. Issues that nobody but God can see. Issues that you have conveniently chosen to sweep under the rug because they are too painful to deal with, and you would have to change and give stuff up if you tried to be honest with yourself. But the fact is no matter how hard you try to ignore your dysfunction, it will keep messing with your mind, body and ultimately your life unless you confront it.

The Bible says every time Jesus wanted to heal someone, he started with casting evil spirit(s) out of the person first. As soon as the evil spirit was cast out the person was well. What does that tell you?

The Bible lists several dysfunctional traits. The deadliest among them are: Pride, Anger, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy and Sloth. Deal with these Seven first and the resulting “medical anomalies” will disappear too.

PS: If you think I am trying to undercut people with real medical conditions, you have completely missed the point. Good bye.
