Jesus – The Only Way?!?!

Why do people say that Jesus is the only way to God? Is He really? Let’s try and break this down and get to the core of this ideology.

Everything good thing that comes from God is a gift. In other words, it is free. You don’t have to pay for your blessings. We know that. Not to be outdone, the devil also offers us all kinds of things – drugs, alcohol, porn, etc. – and these are all bad. Now, just as you can’t walk into a store, pick up whatever you want and leave without paying, you cannot take what the devil has to offer and expect to leave without any consequences. Sin will cost you your life in this world and your soul in the next. It’s the ultimate price.

Even though we do not completely grasp this, to God and the devil, our soul is priceless. That’s why God stepped in to pay the ransom for our release. Now, one sinner cannot pay the price for another sinner because they are both indebted. So, in exchange for us, God ransomed Jesus. Life for life. The good life for the bad. The sinless for the sinful. It’s an awesome deal.

There is only one hitch – You. The deal is not complete until you sign the dotted line.

Let me put it this way. Let’s suppose you owe the bank a lot of money and cannot pay them back. The bank has the right to initiate legal action against you and you could be imprisoned. But if someone goes over to the bank and pays your outstanding debt, you are legally free. The only thing you need to do is agree that the money was credited on your behalf. But if you say something like:“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe that money was paid for someone else, not me,” then, the bank has the right to continue holding you in prison.

To experience freedom from sin and its consequences, you have to first agree that the price that Jesus paid on the Cross was for your release. When you acknowledge that, the devil has no legal hold over you. You are free.

Now, you can do two things with this freedom: a) you could go back to your old way of life and become indebted and imprisoned again; or b) you could choose to relinquish your old ways and start life anew.

The best way to start a new life is to make Jesus your protector. When you do that, He puts His mark on you and sends the Holy Spirit into your heart to counsel, lead and guide you in the right direction and keep you safe from the enemy’s evil designs.

With Jesus by your side and the Spirit of God within you, there is absolutely nothing you can’t do. Your Salvation is guaranteed. The door to heaven is thrown open to you and you place in eternity is sealed. It’s a win-win deal. And it all starts with a choice. Do you accept that Jesus paid the price for your sin? If you do, just pray this simple prayer:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, I am now saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. Thank you for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen.

If you just said this prayer and you meant it with all your heart, you just got saved and are born again. Get into a Bible-based church, study God’s Word, and enjoy your new-found freedom in Jesus.
